Local search optimisation
Your ranking is not a number. It is a map. You can be first in your own driveway and completely invisible four suburbs over, and nobody selling you a single 'you rank #1' screenshot will mention that.
Every red patch on that map is jobs going to someone else, every week, quietly. You never hear about them because the phone simply does not ring.
So the job is not to rank first somewhere. It is to hold the top three across as much of your service area as we can take, then keep pushing the edge outward.
What you get
What you actually get, in plain English
- A target list of the suburbs and searches that actually matter for your trade, built from what people in your area type in — not a guess.
- Geo-grid rank tracking across your service area, reported monthly.
- Your business name, address and phone number made identical across the directories Google cross-references. Inconsistencies here quietly hold rankings down.
- A page on your site for each core service and each priority suburb, written to match how people search rather than stuffed with suburb names.
- Internal links and page structure set up so Google understands which service you want to be known for.
- The technical basics handled: page speed, mobile rendering, indexing, and the structured data that tells Google what your business is.
- Competitor tracking on the businesses currently sitting above you in the map results.
First 30 days
Exactly what happens in your first thirty days
- Week 1: baseline geo-grid scan recorded so every later report is measured against a real starting point.
- Week 1–2: search research and the suburb and service target list, sent to you to sanity check — you know your area better than any tool does.
- Week 2–3: directory and citation audit, with incorrect and inconsistent listings corrected.
- Week 3–4: first service and suburb pages written and published, technical issues fixed.
- Week 4: first geo-grid comparison against the baseline.
Ongoing
Then what happens every single month after that
- Geo-grid rescan across your service area, with the map sent to you so you can see coverage growing or shrinking.
- New service or suburb pages published as we expand the footprint.
- Existing pages updated where rankings have slipped.
- New citations built and old ones corrected.
- Competitor movement tracked, with a note on what changed and what we are doing about it.
- A plain-language monthly summary: what moved, what did not, what is next.
Your part
What we need from you (almost nothing)
Short list, deliberately. You are on the tools, not in meetings.
- Confirm the suburbs you genuinely want to work in and the ones you would rather not drive to.
- Tell us which jobs are profitable and which you are sick of, so we chase the right work.
- Answer the occasional question about how a job is actually done, so the content is accurate rather than generic.
Geo-grid tracking, in plain language
Instead of checking your ranking once from one location, we run the search from dozens of points spread across a grid over your service area — your own suburb, the ones next door, and the edges of where you are willing to drive.
Each point comes back with the position you hold when someone searches from there. Put together, it forms a map: green where you are in the top three, amber where you are on page one, red where you do not appear at all. Progress looks like green spreading outward from your base.
Why a single ranking number is meaningless
If someone tells you that you rank number one for 'electrician' and shows you one number, ask them where they searched from. Search from your own driveway and you will look like number one, because you are standing on top of your business.
Drive three suburbs over and the same search returns a completely different three businesses. That is not an error — Google is deliberately showing whoever is nearest and strongest for that searcher. A single position is a snapshot from one spot, and it can be technically true while your phone stays silent.
The number that matters is how much of your service area you cover in the top three. That is what the grid measures, and that is what we report.
Want to see exactly where you stand right now?
One business per trade, per area. Once your trade is taken in your suburb, it is taken.
