Industries / Electricians

Local search for electricians.

Own the switchboard, rewire and emergency callout searches in your service area.

The situation

Electrical work splits cleanly into two search types: someone with no power right now, and someone planning a switchboard upgrade, rewire, solar install or downlight replacement. The first type calls whoever appears first. The second type reads reviews, checks photos and then calls.

Most electricians set their Google Business Profile category to 'Electrician' and stop there. That single category is competing against every other electrician in the region. The businesses that win the map pack list every individual service, keep the profile active, and collect reviews continuously rather than in bursts.

We treat the profile as the primary asset and the website as its supporting evidence — not the other way round.

How your customers search

  • Emergency electrical searches happen at night and on weekends, and the caller almost never scrolls past the third map result.
  • Planned work searches — switchboard upgrades, rewires, EV chargers — involve real comparison, so review count and photo quality decide the outcome.
  • Commercial and strata enquiries arrive during business hours and check licence numbers and insurance before calling.
  • 'Level 2 electrician' searches are a distinct, high-value niche with very little competition in most Western Sydney suburbs.

The searches that matter

Replace [suburb] with the areas you actually service.

  • emergency electrician [suburb]Emergency

Highest urgency, lowest patience. Position one to three or nothing.

  • switchboard upgrade [suburb]Planned work

High value, strong comparison behaviour, reviews decide it.

  • level 2 electrician [suburb]Emergency

Specialised and under-served — often winnable within weeks.

  • ev charger installation [suburb]Planned work

Growing fast, almost nobody has a dedicated service listing for it.

  • house rewiring costResearch

Top-of-funnel. Answer it properly on the website and you earn the later call.

  • commercial electrician [suburb]Commercial

Weekday demand, higher job value, thin competition.

What we do differently for electricians

  1. 01Every service listed separatelyGoogle matches searches against individual service entries on your profile, not against a general description. We write and publish each one.
  2. 02Licence number visible everywhereYour NSW electrical licence number goes on the profile, the website footer and every quote. It measurably improves conversion on higher-value jobs.
  3. 03Emergency positioning handled honestlyIf you don't genuinely answer at 2am, we don't claim 24/7. Getting emergency calls you can't service earns bad reviews faster than anything else.
  4. 04Job photos as ranking fuelRegular geo-tagged photos of completed switchboards and installs keep the profile active — one of the few things that reliably moves local rank.

The honest constraint

If your profile is brand new and unverified, expect 60 to 90 days before you hold consistent map-pack positions. Anyone promising page one in a fortnight for 'emergency electrician Parramatta' is guessing.

Questions electricians ask

How long before an electrician sees results from local SEO?
Profile improvements and review growth usually show movement within four to eight weeks in less contested suburbs, and eight to twelve weeks in places like Parramatta or Castle Hill. Established profiles move faster than brand-new ones.
Do I need a website to rank in Google Maps?
You can rank without one, but you will convert far less. The map pack decides whether you appear; the website decides whether they call you instead of the next result. We build the site first at no cost for exactly this reason.
Should I list my home address on my profile?
No. As a mobile electrician you should run a service-area business with the address hidden. Google supports this and it protects your privacy without hurting rankings.
What about 'emergency electrician near me' searches?
'Near me' isn't a separate keyword — Google resolves it to the searcher's location. Ranking for it means ranking well across the actual suburbs you serve, which is what our geo-grid tracking measures.

We work with one electrician per service area. Find out whether yours is still open.
